Hi guys,
My wife just received her confirmation that the permanent residence application is complete. She is american (from Puerto Rico). She applied outland (but is living in Vancouver as visitor).
They received our application on August 5th, 2011 in mississaugua and 2 months later I was approved as her sponsor, and then we just received the confirmation today from Buffalo.
So 2 months for the application to go through in Canada, and then 9 months in Buffalo office.
In the email we received today they said people from a Visa Exempt country no longer have to mail in their passport; they just want a photocopy of every page in the passport and 4 more pictures.
Anyways thanks for all the info I got from this website while attempting to fill out the PR application.
