Hi! Does anybody have an idea on when I'll get my passport back?
My application is for permanent residence applied outside Canada (Family Class Sponsorship).
I've sent my passport to the Embassy of Canada in Manila on Feb 2, 2012.
My sponsor is my aunt who's staying in Toronto, Canada and the application has been in process since Oct 2009.

Will appreciate any help! Salamat! :)

no one can tell you for sure,my daughter passed her passport last Jan.17,2012 up to now they didn't return it to her although the immigration here told me within 6 -8 weeks the embassy in Manila will give her visa.we're in 6 weeks of waiting now...

you try to check the manila forum and you can have idea when you can expect your passport back to you..

Thank you so much, fhj1203. Yes, I'll read the Manila forum then. I hope the embassy will return your daughter's passport soon. G'luck to us!

hi everyone! i just received a letter from the embassy saying i do not appear to qualify as a member of the family class per section R117(1)(h) of the Regulations -- my sponsor, who's my aunt/ mother's sister, got married in 2010. my application was submitted in 2009 when she was still single.

now the embassy is giving us 45 days to provide any evidence or submission to address the above stated concern. if they receive no correspondence within 45 days, my application will most likely be refused. they already have my passport, medical exam results, etc.

my aunt says she will consult an immigration lawyer in canada. we don't want our money, time and effort go to waste.

has anyone here been through the same situation? i need your help. thank you in advance.
