I get really paranoid everytime I need to perform in Canada. About a year ago I nearly got sent back by airport customs. I was in canada for two days and one night, working on one of the days, entertaining as part of a promotion. The Customs agent said I can't enter without a work permit or LMO. Luckily the agent took the time to make some calls on my behalf and managed to get a temporary visa for me as a street performer (as I was performing on the street).
The second time performing in canada was for a company, just a one day event so I didnt spend the night there. After much calling around and finding little help. I managed to find the number for customs at the border and they said it should be okay not to have either a work permit nor a LMO. On the day of, it took a lot of questioning and I had printed out all the correspondence with my client and a letter from them about the event... eventually they let me through.
But as I said, I'm paranoid. I have another event for a school coming up next month. Only one day performing, but would likely be spending the night there. Should I be concerned? Will I need an LMO? Can someone please explain when I would need one and when I wouldn't?

Thank you!
