Pending USA asylum, applying for PNP.

Greetings friends! We (wife, myself and two toddlers) would like to apply either for express entry or PNP. Currently we have a pending asylum status. We have our social security cards and work permits, and we have been living in the USA for 6 years while our case is clearly backlogged. Could this pending asylum status be a handicap to apply?

Not necessarily the fact of an asylum claim, but perhaps the circumstances surrounding it. From the information you've given one cannot say, but the fact that you have an asylum claim, on its own, is not a determining factor.
