Peculiar situation

I am seeking your help as I am stuck in bit peculiar stage

I applied for Canada PR as a single applicant ( bachelor ) and my file is about to complete as I already submitted my PP for visa stamping

As still I am bachelor , but my parents are being searching my soul mate at high pace and as per the scenario I am expecting to get married by next 2 3 months

My question is , would I be able to add my "would be spouse" before landing in Canada and after receiving COPR ?

If Yes, how much time it will take to add spouse ? and which documents apart from marriage certificate CIC may ask ?

If you get married before landing and land as single, you'll be commiting misrepresentation and will never be able to sponsor your spouse under family class.
Also you'll put your own pr in risk.

The best way in this case is:
- land, return to your country, marry and apply for sponsorship or;
- marry and include your wife.

So could u please advise, if before landing I get married then add spouse ( is this is still misrepresentation ? )

Hi,

As long as you are not married in any form (traditional or in the eyes of the law, etc.), no common-law partner, or anything like that, when you land and get your permanent residency status, you are just fine.

If you get married before you land in Canada, you have to tell CIC and your visa office. Your PR visa will be cancelled, and your wife will be added to your file. They will then have to process your wife's application. This will delay things. However, if you get married first and then land in Canada with the PR visa that you have now (that is, land as a single person) you will never be able to sponsor your wife.

Either land in Canada and get married later. Or get married, add your wife to your file, and realize this will delay your landing.

Could u please advise If I land as a bachelor and complete the landing formalities and later back to home country and get married then

1. Can I be able to sponsor spouse right away ?

or I have to spend minimum time at least in Canada in order to sponsor spouse ?

2. Also , Do I need to show minimum funds while sponsoring wife ?

1 - yes.
2 - no. However you must explain how you're planning to support yourselves without welfare.

Note that as a PR, you must reside in Canada throughout the sponsorship process. Infrequent short trips are allowed but that's it. Also, the TRV approval rate for spouses of Canadian citizens/PRs is very low. This means that you and your wife would most likely be separated for the duration of the process.
