PDF not allowed?

I am trying to upload my supporting document, which is a 1.56-Mb pdf file. I see nothing wrong with it, but the system continues yelling that there is a validation error and "Error Description: You have specified an incorrect file format for your attachment. Retry with another format. The following file formats are allowed: DOC; JPG; PDF; PNG; and TIFF".

I have tried uploading it from a different place and changing its name. Has anyone else faced this problem..?
