Hi Guys,

I got a request from Warsaw Visa office regarding PCC and it says that I have submitted my PCC with my married last name but they need my PCC with my maiden name. Has anyone had to do that? I have emailed Warsaw office asking for more explanation.

But here are my questions:
1. I am an Indian Citizen living in India. I have obtained a PCC from PSK and it states my name that matches my passport but that name has my last name as my husband;s last name. Would PSK will honor the request to add "maiden name" in the letter?
2. if PSK is not an option then some one suggested that I should go to the police station and get a letter from there. But which police station? The police station of the city that I grew up in, or the city I was born, or the city where I did my college? They are in different states, which police station should I choose to get that letter from?

Thanks,

Hey Singlemum_chennai,

I guess you have already been answered in very details on this. The more threads you open, the more confused you will be.
You should go to the police station (in fact comm of police office) of the city you live in now.

As I stated in another forum, the process to obtain PCC has changed. The earlier requirement was to get it from PSK. CIC are now asking to get it from District Police Office.

The below info is taken from CIC website.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/india.asp

For residents of Punjab: You can apply to your local Senior Superintendent of Police, or the senior ranking police official at the police station in your District.

For residents of other states: You can apply at your local District Police Station.

For residents of Delhi: You can apply at your local District Police Station or online on the Delhi Police website or on the Passport India website. The Web site will list what information and documents you need. If you apply online, your certificate will be returned to you electronically.

To add, go to Commissioner's office and explain your requirement.

They just need to add your maiden name.. The statement will look something like this:

To : Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

This is to certify that there are no criminal cases ongoing or pending against Mr John Smith, Alias Mr. John Doe, bearing Indian passport No: XYZ12536ZZZ which will deem him unfit to obtain a VISA for Canada.

This is pretty standard text.

Hi,

Thanks for the response and I am sorry for posting it multiple times. I read on CIC website as pointed out by you that PCC needs to be from district police station. Now when I applied for PR I was living in Chennai ( I have been living in Chennai for past 10 years) but recently ( few months back) I moved to Noida, UP.

So for the PCC ( since its not centralized like Passport Seva Kendra), should I get it from Chennai Police station or Noida Police station?

Noida or Chennai, whichever is easier for you is fine.
Normally all Commissioners office will have a passport division which normally issues PCCs.
When did you move to Noida?
If it is very recently, like 1-2 months back, then they might be a bit hesitant to issue it.

But check it once, if you can convince them, its alright.
