Hi Guys -
I submitted my AINP application on March 24,2009 and waiting to hear back on notification / approval. I was looking at the other documents that CIC mandates and i had a few questions about PCC
***************************
PCC from US Conulate,India
***************************
I am a Indian citizen , currently in the US and in this case need to obtain PCC at the consulate office in the country of current residence. I am from Florida , and it looks like the consulate general of Indian at Houston Texas will issue the PCC in my case.
On the Consulate website at http://www.cgihouston.org/passportfaqnew.html#gl25 , i saw the following information
What is the procedure to apply for PCC if passport was issued from any other Passport office/ Indian Mission?
i) Completed Miscellaneous services form
ii) Original passport. Since it takes six weeks for the issue of PCC, you may submit the photocopy of the passport at the time of
application and present the original for stamping at the time of issue of the PCC.
iii) Personal particulars Proforma with 2 copies and 2 photographs
iv) Proof of residence/mailing address in USA (photocopy of Driving license/ Lease agreement/ Utility Bills etc.)
v) Fees of $ 20
vi) Return mail charges of $ 20/-.
Questions
*********
1 - Do you know how long the PCC is vaild ?
2 - Did you guys submit the actual passport or a copy initially ? From the website it looks like we can submit a copy initially and then submit the original passport once the office is ready to issue PCC
***************************
PCC from US State & FBI
***************************
Questions
*********
1 - Do you know how long the PCC is vaild ? Is it 3 months or 6 months ?
Thanks !
