PCC Mumbai timeline

I had applied for PCC from Mumbai thru the passport office on 12th Oct. they sent my file for police verification and said it would be done in a few days and i would be informed via sms. around 22-23 Oct the local police visited my address, completed their formalities but since then there has been no update. there is no status change on the passport site either

anyone who got their Mumbai PCC done recently - how much time does it take? how and when should i follow up and with whom - police or passport office?

is there any other link online where i can check my application status?

i know it was diwali in between so possible cause of delay but trying to understand what is the timeline I should expect

Hi,

Try calling their support to talk to a customer service person or if it is not too far visit once with the documents n receipt to check if they let you in.

Explain them what happened until now and see if you can get in.

unfortunately it is pretty far and even if i did go they won't let me in without appointment. spoke to the passport customer service and they say it is still pending with the police station. called the police officer who handled my papers and he mumbled something incoherent about it being done and should be completed by monday something something..so just waiting around.. sighhhhhhhhh

Hi,

Call the police station again and keep reminding them so it happens fast. Be polite so they also feel that you are not trying to shout or over power them.

Give some emotional talk n say you have only so n so days left. Maybe something happens fast.

This is really odd.

I got my PCC from PSK in 10 mins. i guess it maybe since my PP was renewed last year and the verification etc. Happened then.

The only way is to follow up with police. Sincere advice, take someone along who can speak in Marathi.

Even my passport was renewed last year but I didn't have police verification at that time. We just thought that since I've lived at my current address my whole life they didn't think it was necessary at that time .

I've been trying to follow up with the police.. in fact the officer I met at the station was quite nice and helpful. But he keeps saying it's all fine and it should happen soon. I'll try again in a few days ..

Can anyone guide what's the typical timeline to get PCC from India PSK (Mumbai) if one has old passport and address on the passport is different from residential address?
