Dear Members,

I would like to get your expert advice regarding obtaining PCC from India for my spouse.

Well, my case seems to be complicated and I don't know how to go about it.

To begin with,

I am yet to receive an ITA. but with my CRS Score, I should receive it soon.

I am residing in India. Hence I will get a PCC from India. (I have not stayed in any country for more than 6 months)

My spouse has an Indian Passport, but works in Saudi Arabia. (She has work permit)

In her case, I would require 2 PCC. (1 from India and other from KSA)

She travels to India every month and at present she is in India. What would be her case to obtain PCC.

Since she is in India right now, can i apply for PCC (India) - to be proactive. Will it be valid as she will be also coming next month to India. I read some where that Once a PCC is issued and you enter in that country again, it becomes null and void?

Can someone please guide me on this front?

Thanks Guys!

Ok thank you for the link. This means that she can apply for PCC from Indian Embassy in KSA.

However she would also need a PCC from KSA as she is has IQAMA. But the process of PCC for KSA is different. It usually happens after you submit your ITA. IRCC sends you a request letter which will enable you to get PCC from Riyadh.

CORRECT?

You can get it upfront too.

Ok so your saying we can opt for it upfront too.. by this your referring to the PCC for KSA.

But for this We need to approach them. How would the process be? Do we have to write to them / email them and what is to be mentioned?

Regarding the Indian PCC - How to deal with that. We visit Indian Embassy and request for a PCC (Indian) or we need to get it from India. For PCC in India one has to be physically present. Or else they do not issue PCC.

Please advice

1. Take No Objection Letter (NOC) for PCC either from indian embassy or canadian embassy. Canadian Embassy only gives letter after ITA, Indian Embassy can give it anytime.
2. Take this letter to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and get it stamped after paying either online or at shops outside MOFA
3. Get this letter translated to Arabic
4. Take the arabic letter to police station. The address of police stations for different cities are provided on ircc website
5. Collect PCC after 3-4 days

The NOC letter from Indian Embassy will be given in English so you need to get it translated. The one from Canadian Embassy will be in Arabic, so no translation needed. You can email Canadian Embassy after ITA and collect the letter from the embassy gate after 1-2 days.

Get it from Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, that will be the best option.

Please advice

ITA is required for India's PCC. And yes, you need to take appointment first on your passport for PCC and then need to be physically present. I got it done from Herald House Delhi as no dates were available in Gurgaon. It takes approx 2-3 hours inside, waiting in queues, taking token and then being called on different counters A-B-C-D... four counters.

Also, if her present address and passport address is same, she will be allotted the PCC there and then. But if they are different, the police area will be sent your file, they will call and see your docs. and then passport office send message that you can come collect.

It does take a week or so. (my passport address and current address are different)

WoW @Maverick28 That was a great reply.. Thank you so much. I hope this process is also easy and not very difficult to obtain.

Ok I have a doubt, my wife generally travels to India once a month (4-5 days)

Will this affect her Indian PCC in any way? will CIC ask for PCC from India as well (in addition)

Lastly, if we she is issued Indian PCC from KSA, can she travel to India? or will it make her PCC Invalid? is there any rule like that???

This would be the case if we are taking the PCC from India. - In case if we are taking the Indian PCC from Indian Embassy - KSA then the process would be much shorted.

The address on her passport is where she use to live earlier. Now when ever she is in India, she stays with me which is different address.

So if we take PCC from Indian Passport Seva Kendra then the process which you mentioned above would be applicable. CORRECT

Yes, thats right. it will be longer process as addresses are different. And, if you plan to opt for PCC here in India, just make sure she has some proof of address here like Bank Passbook or Aadhar card at her present address.

Have you done the same? I mean have you undergone this process from KSA?

No, my friend has gone through this process recently and he told me about it.

As far as your wife's Indian PCC is concerned, I'll suggest you to get it from the Embassy just before you plan on submitting your application after ITA. And also, I'll suggest not to visit India after the PCC has been issued. Once you submit the application, she can travel freely.
