PCC in pune is taking a lot of time..!

Hi All,

I've applied for PCC post receiving the ITA on 15th Sep'17. They have called me yesterday to the regional police station to submit the documents.

On enquiring further, I got to know that the file will now move to Commissioner Office and then go to passport office. If everything is clear, I'll be granted the certificate.

Can any one of you suggest how many days will it take to get the PCC?

Are you not getting it through Passport Seva Kendra? If police verification is not required you get it the same day.

Have heard getting the PCC from the PSK is much faster, but forgive me I have no idea about the PCC scene in India, had come to know about PSK from a close bud of mine. Good luck

Hello Astha,

First of all, PCC from PSK is most recommended.. and I guess you are going through it..

In terms of PCC processing there are two rules..

1. If your current address and passport address is same..then you will get pcc on the same day of your PCC appointment day..i.e. within 1-2 hrs.. but there are cases wherein police verification is required before issuing pcc

2. if your current address and passport address is different then.. police verification is required.. now in your case.. your file is moving to commissioner office.. call PSK Call center and where exactly your file is .. is it at police office or commissioner office..

If it is at commissioner office.. go to commissioner office(office is at sadhu vasvani road..first floor..no helmet/laptop allowed inside building..but do confirm again) with your PCC appointment receipt and ask them to process/approve your file..

Great! Thanks for your advice. Fortunately the address on my passport is same as my current one so it shouldnt be a problem. As suggested, I'll visit the commissioner office to expedite this process.

Was your passport issued at least one year before your PCC appointment date? if that is the case..that's why police verification despite current address is same as passport address..

Hi,

No my passport was issued on Tatkal basis without any verification. Hence they have not put it on verification; fortunately the address is the same as current one.

about 8-10 days after visiting the local police station. In case you do not get your PCC within the next 4-5 days, go enquire at the local cop station to make sure that your file isn't under review. If it is, then something is amiss.

Current and permanent address can be different, that's not an issue - they verify your current address, that's it.

Did you get your PCC? I have been waiting as well. I visited the Police Station last Tuesday for verification. It is a week now, but there is no change in status yet. How long does it typically take to get the PCC after visiting the police station?

i applied for PCC in Pune PSK on 28th Nov 2018, for my USA immigration visa process i need it asap.
do you have any idea what should i do to make thing fast ? yesterday i visit local police station, they told me they didn't received my application yet.

i am planning to go regional passport office at SB road tomorrow 9am, not sure whether it will be helpful or not.

my passport address is at Ahmadabad. shall i re apply for PCC in Ahmadabad passport office, showing my present address and permanent address only Ahmadabad ? as i heard if both address are same they issue on same day.

Note: i am working in pune, my parents lives in Ahmadabad only so i have enough proof address for Ahmadabad(aadhar card, voting card all govt. Ids).
for this time PCC i show my rent agreement for address proof.
