Hi guys, I am facing a tough problem and I was hoping to get some ideas on what I should do. I am from Egypt and I worked in India for 10 months about 6 years ago. I went to the embassy of India in Cairo to apply for a PCC and gave them all the required documentation and in return I took a receipt but they told me that they can't guarantee that I'll get issued one in the first place and that it's hard to get it for foreigners, even one agent said try to get it from India yourself, I am simply unable to do that.

It's been 2 months now and still nothing. When I asked them for a letter that states my odds and mention what they have said, they strongly declined. I also tried emailing the ambassador and tweeting the minister of foreign affairs but I have been unsuccessful so far. I have one month left for my ITA 90 day period. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Any non Indian nationals here tried to get the Indian PCC? Any advice is welcomed! Thank you!

I applied for Indian PCC and after a month or so I called the Indian Consulate by phone and they told me that "if I have anyone in India with some 'influence' I could get my PCC soon" and that otherwise they could not provide any info or date about when/if I will receive my PCC. Those were the words used by the official at the Indian Embassy. In hindsight, I wish I had recorded that phone-call somehow. My relative had to actually buy an airplane ticket, stay there for a month or so and get things done to get the PCC for me. That was my experience.

I'm sure you made some friends or your boss when you worked there? Try contacting them.

Did you receive anything in writing from the embassy that they cannot provide you police certificate stating reason and any proof that you submitted to them your request for Indian PC?

if you do not have any email or proof from Indian Consulate, try to push them to email you or give you anything in writing.

Thanks man for your reply, what is your nationality? I can't believe how unhelpful the embassy have been. Can you please tell me what did your relative do when he went to Inida? or who did he contact to get it done? I have a couple friends, they live outside of Hyderabad(where I lived) in other cities, I'll try contacting them but don't know what to ask from them exactly. If you can share the steps your relative did and what documenation he needed it would be more than great! Thank you!

I did not get anything, when I asked for a letter, hey strongly declined. I will try emailing them with he hope they will reply so that I have something in writing. They have been super unhelpful and ignoring my follow up so I have a feeling ha the would be very reluctant to repsond to emails. We will see. Thanks!

@asoliman89 I'm Indian, but never lived in India. Due to the address in my passport no longer owned by my family, the PCC reached a dead-end (on someone's desk) so to speak.
The consulate told me the locality of the police station where the inquiry was sent. They also mentioned the major passport/police station where my relative could go to inquire about the PCC request. I guess you can ask your Indian contact to do that in Hyderabad and see what happens.
