Hello All,

I have got my AINP and I am now applying for federal immigration. One of its requirement is Police clearance certificate from India. I am currently living in Alberta and I have got my PCC from India through my dad who is staying there. Just have confusion, if I have to get PCC from BLS or its ok if I have it done personally from India?

I got it through BLS since I am living in Canada.. I am not sure but I think if you get it directly from India, it is accepted too.

Yeah I think that too. All they need is clear police record and if I have had that done directly from India then I dont think they will have any issue. Also there is no mention that it is mandatory to get PCC through BLS!

Usually the practice is to get it from BLS only if you local Police station in your country wants you to be present in the country to obtain the Police certificate. If your local police station does not require you to be there, and is willing to give you the certificate, obviously if you don't any record, then it should be fine.

Thank you. Yeah I got Police verification certificate from them saying "There is nothing adverse has come to the notice of police record" and has stamp and signature of Police commisioner. But I do not have my photograph on the certificate, is it fine enough?

You do not need a photograph as long as the PC mentions your name, address and the jurisdiction correctly, its all good. "There is nothing adverse" is a standard followed by all Police stations in India. As long as the PCC is signed for or by the commissioner, senior superintendent or superintendent of Police all should be fine and smooth.
