PCC from home country

I am supposed to visit India for 15 days. Can I apply for PCC before my visit or it is recommended to apply after this short visit to India?
IRCC website clearly mentions 'stay should be more than 6 months in a row after 18 years of age'. However, I have seen many people recommending not to visit anywhere before submission or it might get rejected. Any personal experience with this?

I'd recommend to apply for the PCC from your country of residence and not India even though you are going to India. The PCC shows where it was issues. If you are staying in a country for more than 6 months IRCC prefers to see the PCC was issued by the embassy not RPO in India
