PCC for India

I know there are already lot of threads discussing India PCC. But I could not find the answers specific to my questions. I have just started preparing for the PR documents under CEC. So I would like to know -

1. Is it possible to send PCC after submitting the PR application and before requested by CIO?
If yes, how? Do we have to send it by post to CIC ?

Reason I asked this question is - It takes around 6 weeks to obtain PCC from Canada. I want to save on the time so that I can submit my PR application package.

2. Any idea , how to obtain PCC , if I am in India?
3. What if the address on Passport and permanent address as of now are different? Which address is to be mentioned on the PCC form?

I found this forum pretty useful and have answered lot of my doubts earlier. Hope you guys can clear my above doubts about PCC too.

Yes, once you receive the aor .. Confirm where is your file...is it in Sydney or ottawa...then send the Pcc according to that

regional passport office, take additional address proof, 500rs chalan, 10th class memo, my friend got it on same day with in 1 hr...in Hyderabad

In some cases they will come to check for the address, so I thing your should use the same address which is on passport.

May be someone can shed some light on point 3

Thanks for details. I am also trying to get information on regional passport offices. Here is what I found -

Found one link of passport seva kendra site which mentions to include present address proofs along with passport.
(Since I am not allowed to post links here, one can access it from the passport site itself). It will not hurt if the present address and address on the passport are not same.

Additionally, not sure if everyone knows, but comissionar office can also provide the PCC.I will post further details as I get it.

I have different address on my passport than my current address, and I got successfully my PCC 2 years ago(applied from toronto), Now I have again applied in the same condition , so will update you on this.

It took me 5 days, rs 300, 3 photographs, and a few documents (passport, ration card, voters card etc) to get the PCC.

My address on passport is also not same as my current address. In my case, nobody asked any question. I guess police officials understand that many people keep on moving and hence have old addresses on passport..

From what I heard, one needs to appear in person to obtain PCC from Indian police stations. Atleast that's the case with the local police station that I belong to in TN. Rules may be different for other state police stations.

nope, they need your Original Passport and In person

Same in Andhra Pradesh

Hi there. My passport was made in 2007. I have travelled to NZ. Currently in India and want to get my pcc done from Ambala office. I had my last pcc for Canada almost one and half year back from same office. It was issued the same day without any police verification. My question is that If I go now for PCC, are they gonna issue my PCC same day or it will take time due to police verification ? I heard that if you have old passport or had any pcc done more than 6 months back then there is police verification required and the PCC may not be issued same day.

I do not have any criminal records;however, just wondering how long it takes.
