Hi,

I have lived in India for a total of 188 days after becoming a permanent resident:

First visit: 30 days

Second visit: 158 days

Could anyone please confirm whether I need a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)?

I understand the requirement mentions staying in a row for more than 183 days. In my case, neither visit alone exceeds that threshold.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Thank you.

By the instructions, not required. If you decide to get one and include just in case, no-one's going to blame you.

IRCC might ask for one later - or not.

You coudl certainly apply without one and then go about obtaining one just in case. Or wait to see if they request one.

Hi

I have a similar question for my parents PCC applying for citizenship

Feb 2021 became a PR

Travelled home country March 2022 - Nov 30

Travelled home country June 2024- Oct 2024

The rest my parents stayed in Canada

When I calculate it shows more than 180 days my parents were not in Canada

Do I need Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and if so can I get from BLS office Brampton

Has anyone been asked a PCC later on after applying citizenship for their parents

Or has anyone faced a smiliar situation would appreciate if someone can reply me back

Pl
Note I’m applying for my parents and they are eligible for their citizenship application

From March 2022 - November: Definitely need a PCC as it was more than 180 days!
