PCC for CEC Immigration

Good Morning All!

I have applied under CEC immigration category on this month and I have a few queries on the PCC. The CIC clearly mentioned that we need to submit the PCC from the country we stayed over 6 months. In my case, I have been in one of the middle east countries initially for 5 months and then went back to my home country. I went to the same middle ease country again after 6 months in a new visitor visa and was there for another 5 more months. I am not sure on this case whether I need to submit the PCC for the same as I have never been there for 6 months.

Could anybody please help me on this. I tried to reach CIC multiple times and I was unable to get through.

Thanks

I don't think according to what is written they should ask as you have never been more than 6 months at once.
But for safety sake you can order one , and in case CIC ask you can provide it .

you stayed 5+5 months = 10 months.

CIC website says if you stayed more than 6 months, in your case you did so you have to as per me.

this is my assumption rest if you want to take risk you can ...

I'm in a similar situation too.

I've came to Canada for study from my home country when I was 17. Since then I went home 3 times in the summers, 2 months - 4 months - 4 months in such order (Total 10 months).

Since CIC website clearly states one will need police check if s/he lived outside of Canada more than 6 months "consecutively" after 18, I'm assuming I don't need one from my home country.
That's also what a friend of mine who applied CEC last year said and did. Although one from RCMP is needed.

To be sure, just ask an immigration consultant, not a lawyer, to give you a declaration letter that you cannot get PCC in the Middle east.
It's difficult to get PCC from the middle east and as per their website their not issuing PCC for non residents.

Technically, no, you would not have to provide the PCC since you didn't stay for more than 6 months at a time. But sometimes CIC will expect one anyway. And while you don't state which country, I'll assume it's very difficult to get. Two options:

- Don't provide the PCC, and wait and see if they ask for one or not.

- Write a letter of explanation - explain like you did above - you visited twice but both times were less than 6 months, provide photocopies of the visas and entry-exit stamps. State that from your understanding of CIC requirements, you do not need to provide a PCC. Alas, it is their right to ask for one anyway. But it might be enough to keep them from asking.

If they do ask, you would have to try and get one (or then explain why it's not possible).

Thanks All for the quick response.

I will check with CIC again and try to get one in case if they want at a later point of time.
