PCC Date Help

I lived in Pakistan since my DOB to Aug 1, 2015 after which I moved to the US. I am getting PCC made for both US and Pakistan.

My question is, my PCC-Pakistan states that I lived in Pakistan from DOB to Aug 1,2015 and I have no issues etc. However, I did visit Pakistan during my vacations( two times-one month each) with total being less than 6 months. My address in the application also states I lived in Pakistan from DOB to Aug 1, 2015 and since then to today it states my US address. Is this PCC acceptable since my residence changed to the US?

Your Pakistan PCC is not valid. It should be issued after the last departure from Pakistan. As you have noted you have traveled after Aug 2015 for vacations. So you should get the latest one done and make sure you don't travel to Pakistan till you submit your PR application (AOR).

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. I hope the Police do issue a certificate for the date since I haven't lived in Pakistan since then.

Just a clarifying question. Since I am residing in the US since then, wouldnt my travel to Pakistan be considered as part of travel to another country and not residence?

What really matters is date of issue is after the date of last departure. I am not aware of the format of the letter but just take whatever they give and I am sure it must be fine. In any case, your travel history which you submit after ITA will clearly indicate your short trips/vacations so it should be ok

Good luck!

The date of issue is after my last date of departure. I left Pakistan in January and got the PCC in May. So if you are saying it is okay I should be good to go because you said it was invalid before? Advise to take latter over the former?

Correct - your country of residence is now US. Hence as per rules, PCC for country of residence is valid for 6 months but for all other countries where required should be after date of last departure.

If it is dated after last departure from Pakistan, then it is fine and you can use it.

Was not clear from the original post or perhaps I misunderstood since you mentioned period of stay mentioned on your PCC was until Aug 2010.

I apologize. Synopsis is as follows:
DOB to Aug 2015-Pakistan
Aug 2015 to Present-US
Visited Pakistan twice for one month each after Aug 2015(last departure Jan 2017)
PCC Pakistan issued May 2017.
PCC Pakistan states my residence was from DOB to Aug 2015 and all is clear.

Hence was unclear as how to report those two months.
Thank you. I believe my PCC would be fine.

Thanks - yes I think that mentioning DOB to Aug 2015 is the issue - any way they can reissue without dates or mention that PCC is valid for stay upto date of issue.

Put a formal request for Pakistan PCC and if they dont change the wordings, get some proof and attach it in a LOE and explain your situation.

Good luck!

Thank you for your help. The letter is standardized so cannot be changed and since I did not actually reside after aug 2015 dont think they will change it. I will have to explain in LOE that I was residing in US and traveled to Pakistan for 2 months after that, but didn't reside there. Hope they don't cause an issue.

If it's a standard format, perhaps CIC is aware of the same since they may have seen such cases. In any case, LOE is your best bet - document and explain it well. You have gone by the book and obtained it correctly after last departure.

Good luck!

Thank you. I have asked other people and everyone has different opinions on it. Maybe other members or someone who visited their home country after relocating to a new county can help.

Hey Salik,

I am in exactly same state. What did you finalise then? I can see three option:

Start date to date of end of your residence
Start date to date of end of your last visit
Start date to date of issue of pcc

What did you choose and did it work?

Thanks already
