PCC based on digital fingerprints- RCMP

Hi Seniors,

I live in Fort Mcmurray and I requested the RCMP office here to issue me a Criminal record check based on my finger prints three weeks ago. They issued me a criminal record check saying that a check is performed on my name and DOB and all results are clear. This letter mentions that the check was not done on the basis of my finger prints. So, I asked them that the check should have been done using my fingerprints. The lady in the office told me that I will receive a seperate letter with my fingerprints in my mailbox coming from Ottawa and it may take upto 2 months to get my fingerprints.

I am really wondering does it take so long to get fingerprint based CRC? Or have I done a wrong procedure? Please advise.

I have inquired about RCMP a month ago and the officer told me that it takes 10 days to get the report after an application is filed with the digital finger prints, If the finger prints are taken manually then it gonna take 4-6 weeks.

Was this CRC for Express Entry?

Did CIC specifically request you provide a PCC for Canada? If so, did you specify to the RCMP that the check is for immigration?

If CIC did not send you a specific request for a Canadian PCC, you don't need one. Stop worrying.

The lady in the RCMP office told me that if you do ink and roll fingerprints then you get it on the same day but it takes time to get the digital ones.

CIC did not request but i did it since my passport was expiring and I wanted to send it for renewal. Yes, that lady wrote explicitly on my application form that the CRC is for permanent residency.

Is there any number i can contact to enquire when will i receive my fingerprints?
