payslips are not mandatory (good to have). If your letter is not as per CIC requirements, then you can upload them

Even though they're not mandatory... I you want to have them just in case you're asked for them... do they also need to be translated ??? thanks

Yes, as far as I know, all Non-English documents are to be translated without fail. Else how can the CO/LVO understand what the document is about???
