My PGWP is going to end in March 2023. I wanted to ask if I do not a get invite for PR from EE or PNP, is there any alternative pathways/programs to extend my stay in Canada? Can we extend our PGWP or can we apply for any other type of extensions or different programs through which we can stay as well as continue working? Please advise if you may have any knowledge or experience of such a situation? Thanks in advance.

You can't extend the PGWP.

To continue working, your employer can obtain an approved LMIA and you can then switch to a closed work permit.

Hello Scylla, Thank you for your response. My current employer cannot assist me in getting me an LMIA. So that option is not going to work out.
Are there any other options/permits or visas available that can help to extend the stay in Canada. My first priority was to stay and continue working but if there are no options then I would also be open to just extend my stay and wait for my invite even if I cant work.

One option is to find another employer who is willing to go through the LMIA process so that you can switch to a closed work permit under that employer.

Another option would be to apply to change your status to visitor and then stop working once your PGWP expires.

If you're willing to go back to school full time and are able to pay international student fees, then I guess another option would be to start a new educational program in January and get a study permit.
