Passports stolen - help Philippines

Hi everyone!

The worse possible thing happened! I am here in the Philippines to pick up my wife. We flew to Cebu for my wife to attend the pre departure seminar. The worse thing happened we were pick pocketed at the airport and they stole our passports! I don't care about mine because I'm a Canadian citizen, it my wife who recently got her visa to enter. What can we do? Please help.

Report to police immediately and get a report. Then inform CIC by email or fax (attach the police report) Very important to act fast, just in case the thief tries to travel with it. Your wife should also apply for a new passport.

What's the expiry date on her PR visa? She has to land by the date or she will have to begin the process all over. If it's too close, ask CIC if she can get an extension due to the circumstances. Since it's tied to the date of medicals, she may need to redo her medicals or CIC could extend it.
