Passport/visa bind

I got approved and sent my passport to LA for processing and visa. I am waiting on it back. Meantime, I am Canada and my visitor record expires in a week. I can't really cross because I don't have a passport.
What can I do? Am I on implied status since I have been approved?

Hi there misterkel.. my husband is a US citizen and he is visiting me while waiting for his passport to come back. he is only coming for 5 days .. I called the US border and they said as long as he has his Driver license and birth certificate , he can enter the states.. they also said for us to have any immigration info if they ask for it. but all should be well. not sure if this helps you>
