Hello all!
I am a Canadian citizen and have been going through hell, like some of you, to get my partner's TRV to come visit Canada.
He is a Brazilian national with permanent residency in the Netherlands.
We both live here.
We were advised to send his application to the Vienna embassy office through the website 'test' as this is where all non-EU national residents must send their documents, not their home countries.
In any case,
Our timeline:
May 16th, 2013 - Online Application Sent and Confirmed Received
June 4th, 2013 - Request for Passport Submission TO SAO PAULO, BRAZIL embassy
Nowhere throughout this whole process has it been stated we might have to send the passport from the Netherlands to Brazil.
Our flight is next Friday, June 14th and we are flying on my company's tickets.
There is no time to send the passport to Brazil.
We have tried to contact Vienna, impossible as most of you already know.
We have used the webform and email.
We will also call Sao Paulo embassy today to request that the passport be sent to an office in EUROPE, where my partner has been living for the last 5 years.
Has anyone had this type of request??
We just do not understand why the Vienna office processed his whole application and then asked us to send the passport to Brazil.
Can he still just go in person to Vienna?
Any help/info/experiences/much appreciated!
