Passport submission, Invalid document

Hi,

I send my passport to the embassy and recieve an update on my application saying counterfoil is valid and today recieve another update saying the counterfoil is invalid.

My passport expires in 3 years and my studies in canada would last 4 years.

Does this mean that my visa was denied?

The counterfoil numbers are different
