passport sending to NDVO from abroad

Hello Frnds,

I just received my MR from NDVO after three years. In the email it has been mentioned to send my original passport along with police certificates and other documents to New Delhi visa office.
Right now, I am Canada on a temporary work permit and it will be difficult for me to leave my job. Is there any way I can send my passport to the NDVO from Canada? Or other possible options.

Seniors please help me. I am in a desperate situation. Thanks a lot.

Perhaps you will be able to send by any courier or express post to visa office but they will not return it back to your Canadian address. Therefore, if you cannot leave Canada, try to find a reliable person going to India who can submit and get it back. Please keep in mind that no one assures, exactly when the passport is returned from visa office.

I did it in the same way as somebody has opined correctly to send it with somebody.
In my case,I am residing in UAE so I sent my passports with my wife .She stayed in India till PP got stamped and came back with my PP stamped.
In your case,any close relatives,friends can help you in that way.

you need to provide an authority letter for carrying the passport, an authority letter to submit the passport(suggest to have it submitted at the VFS office by hand) and you need to have an authority letter to collect the same back from the VFS visa office. Submitting by hand at VFS office will give you a tracking number as well as sms tracking. NDVO does not provide any kind of tracking.

No body can predict how much time the Visa Office will keep the passport. Usually 1-3 months.

you need to provide an authority letter for carrying the passport, an authority letter to submit the passport(suggest to have it submitted at the VFS office by hand) and you need to have an authority letter to collect the same back from the VFS visa office. Submitting by hand at VFS office will give you a tracking number as well as sms tracking. NDVO does not provide any kind of tracking.

On plain paper with clear signatures matching those on the Passport should be fine. Also attest the signatures of the person carrying the passport. So you need to sign each document twice.

I didnot send any authority letter. But my brother did successfully submit passport to VFS. I guess I didnot get any tracking number because of this. I hope it wont create any problem for me.
And Guys did you inform the local authority where you reside about you not having passport at this time ( Having sent to ndvo). Wont it create any leagl problem without having a passport in foreign land.

Do let me know if any one had issues in sending passport with authorization letter I am planning to do the same also would like to know how much time it takes currently to get passport back
