Passport requist??

Does everyone have to sent in there passports and what is it they want it for, my husband has a Dutch passport, does he not just get a pr card?? not sure about this, how long do they keep a passport?

They take your passport to put the visa permitting you to land in Canada in it, it is usually no more than 2 weeks or so depending on the office.

Once you land in Canada then you get a PR card.

what about if we have an inland appl, my husband is already here.???
