Passport Request to Detroit

URGENT:

I got a passport submission request and I am planning to send it by mail.
According to the link sent to me it is said that the Consulate will return documents to addresses in Canada via U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail (Regular Mail) for which no tracking system is available.
Has anyone gone ahead and sent a self addressed return envelope of a commercial courier along with the passport?

If you are in US, the consulate will only accept USPS Express Pre-paid envelope. Envelope size 12"x9". I did send my passports on 29th May this year to the Buffalo office along with a USPS pre-paid envelope. I haven't received the passports back.

If you choose NOT to send a pre-paid label, that's when they use the standard fedral mail which doesn't have any tracking available. Keep in mind, at the time when I received instructions it was clearly stated that they will not accept FedEx or UPS or any other pre-paid envelope other than the USPS's. Hope it helps!
