Hello folks,

I have applied for a spouse PR application. Recently I received an email passport request.

My question is - does Canadian embassy stamp a refusal on passport if your application gets refused? And does this mean the interview is waived?

Getting nervous !

Thanks for replying.

There is no such thing as a refusal stamp. If your application gets rejected, you will receive a refusal letter in the mail.

Passport request is usually a good thing, most of the time it means your application was approved and is in the final stage of processing. However, there are some visa offices who request the passport early in the process, in which case, it doesn't mean much.

You'd have to give us more details, like when did you apply and which visa office is processing your application?

Thank you for your reply Avadava.

A bit relieved to hear that. Visa office is Nairobi, Kenya and application was made in April 2014.

Nothing you should worry about it now. It is the good news that you have got very close to PR!

Congratulations!

I believe this is good news for you. Nairobi doesn't request the passport early in the process, they request it when the visa is ready to be issued. According to the Nairobi thread on this forum your timeline matches other people's timelines, so everything seems to be normal with your application.

Congratulations.

Actually it is difficult to say because some got passport back within two weeks but some got it back in more than two months. It depends on which VO. Hope you will get it back very soon.
