Passport Request-Newyork Office- living in India

Hi All,

Wish you all very HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
Can anyone please suggest me how to send my passport to Newyork Office.

I had applied for PR from canada in Jan 2009, and finally yesterday I recieved for Passport Request - Jan 2011.
Since at present I am living in India, I am worried to send my passport to New York Office.

1) Option 1: Courier
2) Option 2: Through friend who is going to US and from there, he can mail to the consulate.

Also what address needs to be given for returning the passport i.e my india's address or my frineds address who lives in US or frnds address who lives in canada.

Please comment.

1. A courier will not carry a passport in/out of India as it is illegal.
2. If your friend carries to the US, the visa office will only mail it within it's processing area, US, Canada, Bermuda. So you will require a return address in one of those countries.

So here is the below steps i am going to follow :

1) Pasport request letter has come to my frnds address in canada.
2) She will send me the same to Indias address.
3) Then along with passport + photo + letter from immigration - ill give it to my friend who will travel to US.
4) Then he will mail to consulate.
5) In the return address: Ill give my friends address in US.
6) Then some how it will reach my hand through my frnd.

Sounds okie ??
Please confirm.
