Passport Request - help

Hello everybody,

I searched but I can't find an answer to this:

I have applied to AINP - PNP Paper based (inland). I already passed my Medical Tests (late september).
Now, will I be asked to sent the passport over to some Immigration Office? The actual passport?

I was planning to go to my country (ITALY) for Christmas holidays but that's when (according to other people's timelines) they should send me the request.

What happens if I postpone sending the passport (other than the obvious delay in processing my application)?
Do they request passport for everybody or just for some nationality?

Thanks to all of those that will reply.

This would be a lot easier to answer if we knew the country you came from. Are you visa-exempt?

If you're not visa-exempt, you will be required to submit the proper passport. You will get 30 days to submit it. If your Christmas vacation is less than 30 days, theoretically you could return and then submit it.

If you do not submit your passport by the deadline, you may lose your PR. You could request that they extend your deadline - they seem to do this relatively frequently.

Thank you for helping out! I appreciate it.
I'm from Italy. Not sure if that's a visa-exempt..I think it is, if you mean: do I need a visa to visit Canada as a tourist.

Thanks a lot
