Ok guys, so me and my wife are working in Manitoba under the PNP scheme ( i was a student who got married and sponsored wife here and both were on work permits under PNP stream )

We applied for PR once eligible and before the PR request for passport came through we are blessed with a baby boy who was born in Canada.

Now the generic email from CIC says this:\

STEP 1: UPDATE YOUR APPLICATION WITH ANY CHANGES, IF APPLICABLE

You must inform our office immediately if any of the following conditions apply.

· Marriage or common-law union, divorce, annulment, legal separation;
· Death of the sponsor, the principal applicant or any accompanying family member;
· Birth or adoption of a child, including grandchildren born to dependent children;
· You, the principal applicant, or any of your family members have been charged or convicted of a criminal offence.

If available, please send any evidence that supports the change by email to: CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca.

When my wife was pregnant, CIC was informed via the pregnancy defferal letter when her medicals were being done as she could not give the X-RAY right away. now im curious as if this requirement is only for people applying OUTSIDE canada as the child would not be a canadian resident and the file would be required to have a new member on it. A canadian child being born in Canada should not have any implication on my request for PR within canada but i could be mistaken ??

please advise what am i doing here. Issue is if i tell CIC that i have a new family member, its going to take about 2 months for the birth certificate in canada to come through and i have no proof just yet, and CIC needs my passport within 30 days

Like always, thanks a ton.

First of all, congrats for both good news - birth of son & PPR!

As requested by CIC in PPR letter, you need to inform them of your birth of child regardless where your son is born

While you do not have certificate of birth in hand, you can use other documents as long as you can prove birth of your child

Good luck!

i just tell you my own case. Just apply baby's birth certificate (must be mentioned with name of parents because some province has 2 types certi)
second thing once you got birth certificate just make one formal explanation latter and include birth certi's copy.send this
to cic. Your baby is Canadian so he is totally exempted from immigration process. nothing will affect to him or your file due to this.

oh which province r u from? in Saskatchewan it takes only 10 working days but may b you r not from sk.
What you can do in this situation is send your passport and also send cic case processing centre a letter about baby.Also send them
the receipt of baby certi application. to b honest they will not take any action as your baby is canadian so dont take
too much stress. just do your best to inform thats it.dont delay to send your passport just because of this reason.
