Passport Request - Canadian Consulate Buffalo

Hello Folks,

I received an email requesting for passport submission to the Buffalo consulate on the 21st of October. It says, I can either submit it in person or via mail. I am trying to determine if I should travel to submit it in person or if it is OK to send it by mail. Has anyone sent their passports by mail? If so, how long was it before you got your passports back? Appreciate a response.

Mail is also safe. I used DHL from UAE to deliver my passports to CHC London and were delivered in 24 hours. Got back all in 22 days

Thanks all. Just wanted to say that I sent this by mail and got the passports back in about 10 days.

Hi Nag1d,

I was reading your post on topic of moving from US to Canada.

I did not have your email so thought to approach you here. Right now I am in the same situation as you were 2 yrs back. I have L1 visa, 1.5 yrs finished, my PERM is in process for US Green Card application. I was thinking to apply for Canadian FSW as getting a green card in US is too long with lots of un-certainties. I am married and will have first baby this year end. My background and field is Mechanical Engineering (Power plants) having 8 yrs experience.

Considering all above situation and based on your experience (now you might be in Canada), I need some guidance and advice. your thoughts on this.. We both have same background of our home country India. I too have same questions as you had before - US salary vs Can salary, Savings and school education in US vs Canada etc...

I would be grateful if you could help me on this also I will be happy if anyone can guide me on this.
