Passport request by IRCC for COPR and visa(FSW)

Hello,
I got an email from CIC requesting my passport for COPR and VISA stamping for my PR application. My passport was renewed post AOR, now if I send my renewed passport to CIC will it be okay, or what should be my next step ? They have given a 30 day deadline for me to send passport.

Hi,
apart from all required documents send them your new passport, a copy of your old passport + letter of explanation.
