Passport renewal

I received a letter from CIC to submit my passports for visa stamping but as my passports shall expire according to CIC rules i have to renew it before sending. I wish to know do i have to send the old passport along with renewed passport?? Thanking for your reply.

Yes attach both copies. Was your passport full ( imean all pages stamped). If you still have more pages blank just take it for one simple extension stamp on your current stamp. otherwise just get anew one and take both of them for clarity as i am sure they have copies of your old ppt.
