Hi Everyone,

In case your passport expired during the citizenship process and resultantly the passport is renewed. Do we need to send a new copy to CIC or we should show them both renewed and old passport at the time of interview. Also what If the passport is renewable is in process and one get a test and interview request. Then how to satisfy the officer during interview as during passport renewal process the old passport is kept till renewal which some time take 2 to 3 months.

You just need to carry the expired passport and the acknowledgement/receipt from the consulate that shows you have applied for a New Passport. You never send documents directly to CIC unless and until you receive mail in the post specifying their document requirement.

I expected this problem and had my pp renewed a yr before expiry well before I started the citizenship app.
