Hi there everyone- I apologise if this question has already been asked. I did have a scroll to see if I could find it but I was unsuccessful.

I currently hold a PR here but recently had to renew my Australian passport that expires in a couple of days. How do I inform IRCC that I have a new passport number? I have tried logging in to my account, but each time it just brings me back to the IRCC home page. I can't see any account details anywhere. If anyone can shed some light on this frustrating situation, I'd be very grateful.

Your passport, whether it’s old or new, has nothing to do with your PR. You don’t need to inform IRCC in any way.

Just to ease your mind a little bit more regarding my previous reply:

My family member who just renewed their PR card got a new passport a few years ago (after landing of course) had their PR card approved with no issues.

Me personally renewed my passport during the citizenship process, it wasn't even asked during my citizenship interview until I brought it up myself. And even that the officer was like "ok cool".

So your renewed passport has nothing to do with your PR card. They are not connected in any way.

My relatives applied for their PR cards after they had surrendered their old passports to the consulate for the passport renewal process, and...at no point during PR renewal was it any concern. I don't even think they had to submit copies of their passports for the PR card renewal application.

@bellaluna @BadGamer6 Thank you both for your replies and so sorry for the late expression of gratitude- I was not informed anyone had replied to my enquiry! Thanks very much for easing my mind, and a very good day to you both :)
