Hey. So I am here on an IEC visa from the UK and my application for the FSW should be going in in the next 6 weeks.
My IEC is from June 2014 until June 2015, and I intend on getting my second year of the IEC (hopefully) later this year to start from June 2015 until June 2016. Giving me plenty of tie for the PR application to run it's course and see where I am at that point.
However, my passport runs out in April 2016. Meaning if I don't renew I before June 2015, I would end up having my second year cut short by two months.
Wondering if anyone can give me advice on these two options...
1) Send off my passport for renewal and risk running the delay of putting in my PR. This would also mean that I would be sitting on an IEC visa which isn't tied to the valid passport, but to the old one. Would that be a problem? I have aso noticed that the FSW number is moving upwards a little quicker now.
or 2) Apply for both the PR and IEC on my current passport and use the wonderful premium renewal service when I am back in Glasgow over Christmas and new year. But can you just send correspondence to CIC for both applications, stating that the passport number has changed? And also, would I be let back into the country having to travel back with an old passport, a new passport, and an IEC visa?
So many questions. Any help here is GREATLY appreciated. This has been pickling my brain for weeks...
Thanks. M.
