Passport Renewal During Citizenship

Hello Everyone,
I applied for my parents citizenship back in March 2022 but this year their Indian passports are going to expire and application is still in progress. Please suggest:
1. Is it necessary to renew passport if we are not planning to leave country?
2. If we do get the new passports, do we need to report to CIC with updated passports and how?

• No need to renew if you are not planning to travel
• No need to inform IRCC if you decide to renew the passport and get the new passport.
