Passport Renewal after the Submission of BC PNP Application to CIC

Hi all,

I recently submitted the paper submission to CIC after I got my BC PNP nomination.
I submitted it on Nov.22 and haven't yet received the AOR. After some research, I heard that receiving an AOR may take about 12-18 weeks after CIC received my application.
The thing is my passport will expire in May 3, 2017 which means my work permit will expire then as well.
I want to allow at least 3 months (+ 3 weeks cause it takes 3 weeks to get a new passport from my country) to have enough time for working visa approval.
Does any of you know when would be the best time to renew my passport and how I should let CIC know about this?

Also, do you know when we can apply for bridging work permit? Is it possible only after we receive an AOR (with file number etc.)?

BOWP is 4 months before OWP expires and have AOR.

You can put application in mail and enters implies status when your current WP expires, then by the time CIC reads your BOWP application, you already have AOR and hence approves you BOWP. This is not the best scenario because you might be missing documents leading to returning of PR application, or you've put BOWP in the mail too early and get rejected (becoz you don't have AOR)

You can't notify CIC on passport renewal until AOR, by then you will have a EP file number to refer to.
