Passport Renewal after PR

Hello,

My passport is due to expire in 3 months. I am already staying in canada for 1 year now. When I booked the ticket with Air India to come to India, they said if passport expires within 6 months, Air India will nto allow boarding. However, at Montreal Airport no body bothered about my passport expiry. I am in India and thinking about applying to renew my passport under tatkal quota. I have to go back in 2 weeks so I am bit tensed. I have few questions

1. Has anyone travelled to Canada from India by Air India when there passport was expiring within 6 months. I checked with jet, they don't have any such rule.
2. If I am applying for passport under Tatkal, should I mention present address as my Canada address or India address. If I put canada address then I am worried the police verification may take time.

If you are coming back to Canada before your passport expires, I would suggest you rather not apply for passport while in India. Marking Canadian address as permanent address might cause problem.

Many years ago, I applied for passport while in Madras and marked Cochin as the permanent address. It created a lot of problem for me....
