passport related problem time of Application

Hi Friends and all Full VIP and senior members,
1) I am submitting my documents soon, I have problem. my passport will expiered in march/20/2011. so, it is good to apply with 1year 4months duration remaining for expiry date of passport.

2) I can renew it durring file in process.

3) I have question that I have to mentioned schooling dates, I forgot it my first date of school. but I know my secondary and higher secondary school date, year. even in my primary school they dont have record.
its enough I can mentioned my SSC and HSC dates only?

If you can renew passport right now and its matter of days only then I will recommend first renew passport so that same number you will have in all forms included Sydney and Local office. Depends on system of your place, forexample .. where I am from.. I can renew it before 6 months of expiry date and its just matter of 2 hours.

Now come back in case if you are unable to renew.... then just go ahead and submit application, it will take almost 2-3 months to get approval from sydney, later when you gonna submit full application to local office, you can update your form with attached copy of old passport and or a little explanation as well.


Include an explanation for what ever you think IO might get confuse..

Thanks, I am from the California Indian citizen on H1B, here its take maximum 15days to renew, but takes time some for me like preparing documents for passport renewal , I am thinking that I apply with Old passport, I will apply later as you said.

I have also 1 more question , i am in the USA so I have to go for IELTS and I ask some people personaly and they are in the canada they told me that I am in the USA so interview also be waived off... my points are exactly 67.!!! on border....

Question#3. Please include a explanation for what ever you are unable to provide evidence. In your case... if you don't remember the dates, then try to explain by a written statement. Hopefully, IO will understand as well.


IELTS is always recommended, even I will say must to do. Living / working in English speaking country won't change your mother language. This is what CIC highly recommend to submit IELTS , you MAY submit supporting documents for prove your proficiency only when English is your Mother language.

There is number of applicants who got approved by submitting English proficiency proofs etc... but its depends how many points you are in need from Language factor. You even need to work more by collecting your educational proofs, employment proofs, writing a explanation letter and what ever else.. instead of just prepare and sit for IELTS. If you think your English is good enough then go ahead and sit for IELTS.

If your passport life is over i.e. if it expires, you are supposed to apply for a new passport and not renew it. Is that right?

Hi Omm, I am also in same boat.

tugga82, passport renew is considered as new passport application, since after renew will get the new passport book which will be having new passport number.
