Passport Question

Hello I got ITA (CEC Category) in the december. I have taken the medical already and almost about to submit my application. I have a question about updating my passport. I am a Bangladeshi citizen. My passport validity is expiring on end of May. A friend of mine said I need a valid passport when CIC will request for my passport. Now my question is will it be an issue if I submit my application based on my current passport and renew the passport in the meantime while they are processing my application? Or I should renew my passport first and then submit my application. If I need to renew my passport first then I need to decline my ITA since generally it takes 2-3 months to receive the new passport. Any help or insight about this issue will be appreciated.

If your passport will expire within six months from the day you apply, you should renew it. Then, update your passport information in your application. This will make sure it is valid when we process your application.
