Passport question with IEC

I am on my first year of IEC and it ends on 2nd Jan at which point i am staying in Canada just with a changed status to visitor till the new opening comes in 2015

I want to apply for my second year in Jan however my passport is only valid till Nov 2015. Will they not let me apply without a full year on my passport? I will be applying for a renewal but it takes over a month to do that and i have to send my old passport in to do it. I don't want to have no passport when application time comes around.

will they just give me a visa till the passport runs out... Also when i apply for renewal passport can i take it and get the extra time added on? or will they just give me the year visa?

i do intent to get my visa renewed as soon as the application stage is done

There is another option that i go home to england. Get a passport then come back but thats' $$$

They will limit the initial expiry to match your passport. When you renew your passport, you will have to apply for the reminder of your entitlement. You will be covered by "implied status" during the transition period only. This is the only time that "implied status" applies to IEC work permits.
