Hello, we submitted our application for Outland Family Sponsorship Nov 4th. We have got the request for biometrics to submit by Jan 6th,2020. My PA has lost the passport we originally applied with in the paperwork and have gotten a replacement with a new passport number. The biometrics letter says he needs to bring that letter and Passport referenced in the application. Does we need to contact IRCC to change the passport number before he gives biometrics and will they need to issue another biometrics letter under the new passport number? Please help we're freaking out.

Usually when you report a lost passport it is printed in the replacement somewhere that the old passport with the number was reported lost. If so , you should be able to use that to match your spouse up with the passport number on the biometric request letter. I would go ahead and take the new passport along to get the biometrics done , then send a web form with the an explanation and the new passport information to IRCC. You will be fine . They’re gonna accept your bio’s one way or the other.
