Passport not valid for 6 months anymore. AOR February 2017

Hi Folks

I recieved an AOR on 27 February 2017. My application has background check changes as follows :-

Not applicable - > In progress (1)

As of yesterday, my passport is not valid for 6 months anymore. What is the recommended course of action in this case since upon ppr one needs to send passport with 6 months validity. My nationality is Indian, currently residing in Toronto and my application is under the cec stream

Better renew you passport now and before/when cic requests a new, valid passport, you could submit. Because in my case, my husband had the same situation. We were asked to renew his passport within one week, which is not possible. Because the home country embassy in Canada doesn't do urgent case, renew a passport needs 15 working days. That's why my husband flew back to home country to do an urgent case. We also raised a message to cic to ask for more time for this matter. They replied and gave like one month to renew finally. More or less, this matter did impacted the whole process.

Thanks for your input, I just checked Consulate General of India Toronto's website and seems like they have Tatkal service available. Under this service, you get your passport in 3 days after submitting the request.

After renewal of passport, nothing about the documents requested any more. The process after that will be case by case I think.

But how did you notify CIC that your husband's passport has been renewed?
