June 24,2014 To God be the glory! PR CARD received: August 22, 2014 (exactly 60 days after landing)! Son's PR card arrived August 27, 2014 (exactly 65 days after landing)
Hi! I became a PR in 2014. I used my maiden name in all my forms etc. So my maiden name is on my PR card.

I wanted to change my passport to my Married name...
Do I really need to apply for a new PR card to change my last name?
I saw one post that it might take 6 months for the new card to arrive.

Would it really matter if incase I travel TO the US or any country , that my passport is in my Married name and the PR card is still on my maiden name? Or maybe bringing my marriage certificate is just fine?

Please help! Thanks!

Wife (in AB) changed name two years ago (get name change certificate from your province), applied for new PR card, arrived in less than 30 days.

You can change your name in your passport without it affection your PR card. It doesn't matter if they don't match after you've landed and become a PR. You can either get your PR card renewed now reflecting your married name, or just wait until it is time to renew and then change the name. You can still travel without problems by just changing your passport.
