Passport Issue

Here is my situation

I am a canadian citizen sponsoring an Egyptian as a spouse. She lives in the USA and is a green card holder. She does not have a passport as she in not an american citizen and her Egyptian passport expired. Looking at the paper work to sponsor her it seems she needs a passport. What is the best way and quickest to solve this problem?

She needs to apply through the nearest Egyptian consulate/embassy to renew her passport. All consulates offer this service to citizens of their country abroad.

I would suggest that the applicant get a their passport renewed at the closest Egyptian consulate

Does anyone know how long it takes to get an egyptian passport in the states?
