Passport Gap explanation

I am not sure what does that mean however, I have new and old password. The old password expired last year on May 2015. I got my renewed password as of date issued on April 2015 and the embassy cancelled my old passport. The question is, do i need to submit gap explanation letter or no need for it?

Hi,

What do you mean by a cancelled passport? They did not give it back to you? If that is the case, then you just have to provide them a letter explaining that your embassy did not give you back the old passport when you renewed it.

When I renewed my passport, the old one was not returned back to me. I just had to enclose an explanation letter in my application and so far, they did not ask about it.

But then, I don't think this will matter as you have received your AOR already according to your other posts. Your application should have been returned to you before sending you an AOR if they wanted an explanation letter. There is no need to send them one now unless they ask for it as it may just confuse them and may cause delays on your application process.

I hope you doing well. They gave me back my old passport and I attached them both the old and the new one together. I also sent them the copies of the old password has stamp on it says "cancelled" as well as copies from the new passport. Now I feel better because you mentioned if there was a problem they wouldn't send me AOR lol thanks

Well, that is good then. You don't have to worry about anything since you provided them everything that they are requiring. Just sit back and start reviewing the book now. Good luck.
