Passport expiring .Accepting invite. Will police verification suffice

My passport expires 15.05.2018 and Im planning to submit my application for PR (received express entry invite which expires on 20th Dec).
Now I just wanted to ask whether it would be a cause of trouble if my passport number changes/ my police verification is on the expired passport book (still in my possession)

You can apply to reissue your passport under Tatkal + get a new PCC based on the new passport number. Both are possible in a week's time.... or if you meet the Passport Officer in-person with your ITA/other documents, you could even get a new passport and PCC in a couple of days.

If you don't want to apply under Tatkaal, etc.... then apply for your PR with your current passport.... shortly after that you can apply for the new passport under Tatkaal.... and inform IRCC through a Case Specific Enquiry/IRCC web form about your new passport number
